Turon, Kansas – Our kind and loving wife, daughter and sister, Cherie Lee Jackson Palmer, age 48, died Friday, October 7, 2011 at her home in Turon, Kansas. She was born July 14, 1962 in Murray, Utah, a daughter of Donald Dean and Diana Lee Erickson Jackson. She graduated from Richfield High School Class of 1981, Richfield, Utah. Cherie married Thomas Palmer, Jr. December 30, 1997 in Wheatland, Wyoming. She was a long haul truck driver and enjoyed travel team driving cross country with her husband. Cherie served two terms on the Turon City Council. She enjoyed fishing, hunting, was an avid reader, loved nature, animals, especially her German Shepard, Maggie. She was an easy going person, and loved everyone she met. She liked to tease people. She would give you the shirt off of her back, if you needed it. She called on the phone, at least one family member every single day. Cherie will truly be missed. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Palmer of Turon; her parents Dean and Diana Jackson of Cedar City, Utah; brothers and sisters: Clark and Margy Jackson, Teresa and Rhett Taintor all of Enoch; Scott and Taura Jackson and Julie Foreman, all of Cedar City; brothers and sisters-in-law: James and Madelyn Palmer, David and Linda Palmer, all of Denver, Colorado; Sherry Palmer of Seattle, Washington; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister-in-law: Linda Palmer. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 15, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. in the Salina 2nd LDS Ward Chapel, located at 85 South 100 East in Salina. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Salina, 150 East Main Street, Saturday morning from 11:00 to 12:30 P.M. Prior to the services. Burial will be in the Salina Pioneer Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
