Claon Coleman Adams

Claon C. Adams Monroe, Utah - Our loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Claon Coleman Adams, age 77, of Monroe, passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2003 in Salt Lake City of stomach cancer. She was born September 16, 1926 in Teasdale, Utah, a daughter of Charles Ellis and Ruth Allen Coleman. She graduated from Wayne High School, Class of 1944. She married Marion Taylor Adams, June 5, 1946 in Teasdale. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple, January 27, 1955. Claon was an active member of the LDS Church and served faithfully in many capacities. She was an excellent homemaker and mom to all around her. She found great joy in her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her hobbies included cooking, crocheting, gardening and cheering for the Utah Jazz. For the past 10 years, she has looked forward to spending the winters in Quartzsite, AZ, where she and Marion associated with many friends. Claon is survived by her husband of Monroe; children: Eldon, Salt Lake City; Stan (LaRene), Alpine; Janet (Mack) Christensen, South Jordan; 9 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; sisters: Lorna (Arlen) Brown, Loa; Glenna Vee (John) Newby, Yuma, AZ. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Janice Sorensen, her parents; four brothers: Ellis Gleave Coleman, John Kell Coleman, William Sheldon Coleman and Samuel Eldon Coleman. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 12, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. in the Monroe LDS Stake Center, 140 South Main Street in Monroe. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. and at the stake center in Monroe, Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Monroe City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
