Salina, Utah - Our kind and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Colleen Larsen Dastrup, age 80, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 28, 2015 in Richfield. She was born May 24, 1935 in Richfield, a daughter of Willis George and Edna Spafford Larsen. She married Newell D. Dastrup, June 28, 1952 in Richfield. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple July 1, 2000. Newell preceded her in death on July 25, 2001. Colleen was an active member of the LDS Church, serving as a dedicated Visiting Teacher and in numerous other callings throughout the years. She enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing, riding 4-wheelers and any kind of a party. She loved watching the Jazz games. "Go JAZZ." Colleen is survived by her children: Paul W. and Denise Dastrup of Panguitch; Brenda Tanner of Redmond; Karen and Kim Anderson of Richfield; N. David and Chantel Dastrup of Nephi; Kent B. "Buddy" and Lisa Dastrup of Cedar City; 21 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willis and Edna Larsen; her husband, Newell D. Dastrup; two daughters: Susan Colleen Addy Rasmussen and Diane Dastrup; and two sisters: Janet Larsen and Barbara Anderson. The family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to the wonderful staff, management and doctors at the Richfield Care Center, for all their love, support and kindness show to our dear Mom over the past 18 months. Grave side services will be held Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 12 Noon in the Richfield City Cemetery. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Salina, Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Wednesday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the graveside. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
