Lyman, Utah - Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, DelMar Clinton Sterling, age 92, died January 6, 2010 in Bradford, Arkansas. He was born August 3, 1917 in Bradford, Arkansas, a son of John Francis and Daisy Lucy Swaun Allen Sterling. He graduated from North Sevier High School, Class of 1937. He served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. DelMar married Coral Blackburn, March 8, 1940 in Loa, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple March 7, 1947. Coral died May 12, 1997. DelMar married Hazel Marie Crossman Weathers, June 1, 2002 in Bradford, Arkansas. He was an active member of the LDS Church where he served as an assistant in the High Priest Group. He was a hard worker and worked as a mechanic for the US Post Office and retired at the age of 70. He and Coral moved to Lyman in 1995 after his retirement. He is survived by his wife, Hazel; children: Delma Tucker of Salt Lake City; Coralynn and Don Green of Riverton; Wayne and Joann Sterling of Taylorsville; Ted and Sandra Sterling of Mill Creek; Tim Sterling of Midvale; 29 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; step-children: Wayne and Joyce Weathers of Nutwood, Illinois; Erena and Richard Roberts of Hartford, Illinois; Alice and Billie Williams of Holly Springs, Arkansas; Frances and Roger Beasley, Patricia and George Pettypoole, all of Betheldo, Illinois; Theresa and Paul Robertson of Bradford, Arkansas; 15 step-grandchildren; 27 step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 3 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; a brother and sister: Clifton Sterling and Betty Taylor. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. in the Lyman LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Friday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or at the Ward Chapel in Lyman, Saturday morning from 11:00 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial with military honors accorded by the Harold Brown American Legion Post #92 will be in the Loa Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
