Salina, Utah - Our sweet sister, aunt, great aunt, friend and neighbor, returned to our Heavenly Father in the early morning hours of October 4, 2014 in Centerfield, Utah. Elaine Burr was born in Salina, Utah on July 2, 1933, a daughter of Myron Beason and Olive Bell Mickelsen Burr. Elaine graduated from North Sevier High School, Class of 1951. She worked at Burr Motor in Salina in her early 20's and then on to her favorite job, the one that she always talked about, Mountain Bell. She loved her co-workers and often took her nieces and nephews with her to work. After Mountain Bell, Elaine went to work at Zions Bank in Salina. She loved the people she met and always had a smile on her face. There was never a dull moment with the pranks she pulled and her contagious laugh. She later was the Custodian at the Seminary building and local ward houses for years. Elaine loved to drive her daily route to visit the Eastside Cemetery and then stroll through town to see what was new with a stop at the drive-in for an ice cream cone. She taught her nieces and nephews how to steer her 1974 green Monte Carlo on Sunday afternoons while listening to polka music, riding around Salina. Elaine loved her family and appreciated all they did for her. She especially loved her nephew Kent and her brother Wayne, and all the great adventures they would take her on in the "gator". They mowed her lawn every week and made sure it looked nice for weekend company. Jimmy was always there to lend a helping hand and Brent to stop by and check on her. Elaine is survived by her brothers: James and Ann Burr of Salina; Brent and Janece Burr of Bennion; sister-in-law: Arda Burr of Salina; many nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and great-nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Jack Burr and Wayne Burr; a sister: Verna Dean Bigler; and a sister-in-law: Belva Burr. The family would like to thank the Centerfield Community Living Center and Dr. Abbott, for taking such good care of Elaine the past few years and At Home Health Care/Hospice, for caring so much for her. She truly loved all of you. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 10, 2014 at 3:00 P.M. in the Salina 2nd LDS Ward Chapel, 85 South 100 East in Salina, where friends may call for viewing Friday afternoon from 1:00 to 2:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Salina Eastside Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
