Gunnison, Utah - Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Elaine Orrock Wegener Harris, age 78, of Gunnison, slipped away peacefully and returned to the arms of her Heavenly Father, October 16, 2011 in Levan, Utah. She was born May 28, 1933, in Elsinore, Utah, a daughter of Joseph Clair and Lila Rose Christensen Orrock. She married Wilfred K. Wegener, February 10, 1965. They were blessed with three sons. They later divorced. She then married Geoffrey Arthur Harris, July 28, 1982 in Nottingham, England. Their marriage was solemnized in the Jordan River LDS Temple December 28, 1983. Geoffrey preceded her in death, June 10, 1991. She later married Don Larmore, May 11, 1993 and they divorced. Elaine received a Bachelor’s Degree in nursing from Idaho State University in Pocatello, Class of 1958. She worked at the Veteran’s Hospital in Salt Lake City and then at the Gunnison Valley Hospital, where she retired. She was an active member of the LDS Church and spent her life in the service of those around her. She enjoyed gardening and oil painting. She is survived by her children: John and Jaylene Wegener of Gunnison; James and Kristy Wegener of Payson; David and Teresa Harris of Portland, Oregon; step-children: Valarie and Michael Carr, Jennifer and Robert Hutton, both of Nottingham, England; Linda and Ray Bonella of Salt Lake City; Rebecca Walker of Nashville,Tennessee; Jeanette and Keith Brewer of Las Vegas, Nevada; William and Lisa Wegener of Sandy; Wendy and John Casperson of Draper; 45 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lucille Christensen of Salem and Beverly Tadehara of Sandy. She has been reunited with many who went before her, including her parents; her husband, Geoffrey; and sisters: Donna Kiss-Illes, Anna Lou Seeley and Kathleen Ellibee. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 22, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. in the Gunnison LDS Stake Center, 80 West Center Street, where friends may call for viewing Friday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Gunnison City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
