Salina, Utah - Garry Deloyd Lund, age 73, passed away in his sleep at his home in Salina surrounded by his loving family in the early morning hours of February 17, 2024. He was the son of Deloyd (Arva) Lund and Lela Workman. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on January 27, 1951.


He was known for his strong work ethic, desire to help others, and a kind heart that left a lasting impact on those around him. Growing up in Gunnison, Utah, he developed a passion for sports, motorcycles, the outdoors, and became a guiding figure for his brothers.


On May 1, 1970, Garry married the love of his life, Glenda Jean Barney, in Richfield, Utah. Together they shared 53 years of love and companionship, raising their 4 children. In the early years of their marriage, Garry worked in the power industry installing transmission lines and substations. Following this chapter, Garry and Glenda embarked on a new career path and became the owner-operators of Garry Lund Trucking in August 1978. Known for his strong work ethic and adaptability, Garry found success in both of his roles leaving a lasting impact on the industries he served with the unwavering support of his devoted wife. He and Glenda dedicated themselves to Garry Lund Trucking until their well-earned retirement in 2020.


Garry’s diverse interests included hunting, Lake Powell, traveling in his motorhome, Nascar, ATV riding and corn hole. He took joy in witnessing his kids and grandkids excel in their pursuits, cherishing every accomplishment. Known for his wonderful sense of humor and the ability to infuse laughter into every gathering, he leaves behind memories filled with smiles, giggles, and warmth.


Garry is survived by his wife Glenda of 53 years; children: Nanette and Devin Prisbrey, Tia Lund, Jason and Hayley Lewis; 6 grandchildren: Breydon, Baylee, Jaylee, Remi, Krue, and Malachi; 4 step-grandchildren: Preston, Wyatt, Kyler, and Whitney; mother: Arva Lund, mother-in-law: Melva Barney; siblings: Mike (Candi) Johnson, Robin Johnson, Kevin Johnson, Mark (Alesha) Johnson, Phillip Workman, Kim (Julie) Lund, Scott (Suzette) Lund; In-laws: Sue Barney, Brad and Lisa Barney, Lane and Kim Barney.


He is preceded in death by his sons, Jerod Lund and Jesse Lund; father Deloyd Lund; mother, Lela Workman; step-father Randal C. Johnson; father-in-law Glen Barney; and brother-in-law Craig Barney.


Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 12:00 P.M. at the Salina Stake Center, 98 W 400 N., Salina, where friends may call for viewing Saturday morning from 9:30 to 11:30 prior to the services.

Burial will be in the Salina Pioneer Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
