Aurora, Utah - Our beloved and beautiful mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, sister and friend, Gwen Merea Rasmussen Hallows passed away June 2, 2012 in Centerfield, Utah. She was born November 24, 1933 in Salina, the third child of Sharp and Gwendolyn Harding Rasmussen. As a child Gwen moved to San Diego while her brother Verl was in the Navy, and then to Provo for a short period while her dad helped build Geneva, coming back to Salina where she attended grade school and North Sevier High School. There she met a handsome man from Aurora, Karl ā€œGā€ Hallows. They were married January 16, 1951 in Salina and lived their whole lives together in Aurora. Their marriage was solemnized the the Manti LDS Temple, October 10, 1991. Dad died May 23, 2010. Mom loved to work in her yard and she treasured her beautiful flower gardens. She was a great cook; the family always looked forward to gatherings, knowing she would have something special prepared. Mom was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints serving in various calling in Primary and in the Relief Society Presidency. She is the best mom any 5 boys could ask for. We will miss her love and example. Mom will be dearly missed by her family, children, Teddy and Valerie Hallows, Salina; Jeff and Colleen Hallows, Aurora; Kelly and Marina Hallows, Aurora; Troy and Dalene Hallows, Aurora; Trent and Lori Hallows, Salina; 18 adoring grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren; sister, Roween Green, Dolan Springs, Arizona; and brother, Rodney Rasmussen, Salina. She is proceeded in death by her husband; parents; her mother and father-in-law, Dwight and Lealuth Curtis Hallows; brother, Verl Rasmussen and his wife, Naoma; and brother-in-law, John Green. Funeral Services are scheduled for Friday, June 8, 2012 at 12 Noon in the Aurora 2nd LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call for viewing Thursday evening from 6 to 8 pm., or Friday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 am prior to the services. Burial will be in the Aurora City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
