Jarvie Thompson, age 87 of Pleasant Grove, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2016 in Orem, Utah. He was born July 16, 1929 in Hobble Creek, Utah, a son of Thomas Leo and Bernice Sellers Thompson. He married Pearl ReNay Peart April 6, 1951, being bless with 4 children, then later divorced. He then married Gertrude M. Stallings, November 18, 1964. She passed away May 10, 2012. Jarvie served in the US Army and retired from Geneva Steel. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by a brother, Lawrence; sisters: Donna Mae Baker and Weltha Johnson; 3 daughters: Dixie Lucas, Kerry Barney and Jill Curtis; step-children: Evelyn Packer, Lorraine Perry, Carolyn Hampton, Maggie Hedger, Ronnie Peck and Marty Wilkinson, along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Kim Jarvie Thompson; sisters: Naomi, Dorthy and Jessie; brothers: Dickie, JC, Archie and Leo; grandchildren: Derik Migliaccio and Shelly Dall; and a great-grandson, Remington Curtis. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 30, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. in the Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East in Pleasant Grove, Utah, where friends may call for viewing Friday morning one hour prior to the services. Graveside services and burial with military honors accorded by the Salina American Legion Post #36 and the Utah Honor Guard will be Friday afternoon at 3:00 P.M. in the Salina Pioneer Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
