Karen Evalene Summarell

Salina, Utah – Karen Evalene Wootton Summarell, age 70, our Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister, and Friend passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 4, 2017. Karen was born on November 24, 1946 at the Park City Miners Hospital. The daughter of Reed and Katie Evelyne Wootton. She grew up in Park City, Utah and attended Park City High School, Class of 1965. Park City is also where she met her forever sweetheart and husband of 54 years, Samuel Thomas Summarell, whom she married on February 23, 1963 in Salt Lake City, Utah Karen was survived by her beloved husband Samuel Summarell of Salina; her children: Lori J. Bagely of Jackson, Wyoming, Reese and Misty Summarell of Salina; Joleen Summarell of West Jordan; Marty and Kate Summarell of Salina; her grandchildren: Braydon Summarell; Derek Bagley; Zach Summarell; Destrie Sorensen; Brooklyn Harrington; Jaden Summarell; Oakley Bagley; Taya Summarell; Jasmine Summarell; Brittania Summarell; great-grandchildren: Deken, Ryder, Lincoln, Carter, Kaydence, and Evalene. Her brother and sister: Keith and Mary Wootton of Roosevelt; Gloria Porter of Aurora. Karen will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Karen loved nothing more in this life than her Family and Friends. She will be remembered mostly for her Love that she gave, as well as her patience, kindness, honesty, beauty, storytelling, intuition, date remembrance, mischievous giggle, beautiful smile, daintiness, singing, yodeling, love of babies, selflessness, and caregiving. She loved the outdoors, visiting, reading, ghost stories, bowling, and we can never forget the Park City Ladies Luncheon. Karen was stunningly beautiful and so humble she didn’t realize it. Karen was a member of the LDS Church. A viewing will be held Friday, April 7, 2017, at the Salina Stake Center, 98 W. 400 North in Salina, Utah from 6-8 p.m. Graveside services will be held Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the Cedarview Cemetary in Cedarview, Utah at 1:00 p.m. Services are under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, and Salina, Utah.
