Our dear wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Karren Anderson passed away December 22, 2004 from complications due to diabetes. Karren was born in Redmond, Utah, on July 25, 1923, a daughter of Mecheal Peter and Ivy Sophia Anderson Andreasen. She married Lester J Anderson on May 5, 1943 in Oakland, California. They spent 61 years as loving and inseparable companions. Karren and Lester returned to Utah when Lester was discharged from the Navy in 1945 and resided in Salt Lake City. They lived in the East Mill Creek area and owned and operated the Evergreen Cleaners for 40 years, retiring in 1987. Her greatest joy was her family and her home and being with Lester. Karren is survived by her beloved husband, Lester; her daughter, Kathy and husband Fred Handsaker; her grandsons and their wives: Clint and Katrina Handsaker, Trent and Aynie Handsaker; three great-granddaughters: Alix, Hadley and Jayden and one great-grandchild due in June 2005. She is also survived by two brothers and two sisters: Kent and Joy Andreasen, Larry and Rolayne Andreasen, all of Gunnison; Beth Gates of Bountiful; Tressie and Morris Lund of Bremerton, Washington; ten very special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Jack Andreasen and his wife Madge; and a sister, Ramona Petersen. Services will be held Tuesday, December 28, 2004 at 12 Noon in the Springer Turner Funeral Home, 150 East Main Street in Salina, where friends may call for viewing Tuesday morning one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Redmond Cemetery. The family would like to thank the special nurses and staff on East Eighth Floor of the LDS Hospital and the caring nurses and staff at Highland Care Center for caring for Karren after her two recent surgeries.
