Gunnison, Utah - Lois Ann Larsen Hubbard, age 66, died peacefully at her family home in Gunnison after a brief, but courageous battle with cancer. She was the first child born in the Gunnison Valley Hospital on September 6, 1940, to Howard Randolph and LaVerd Griffin Larsen. She attended Gunnison Valley High School and Snow College in Ephraim. Lois spent her working career principally at University Medical Center where she worked with Drs Jarcho, Petajan and most recently Dr. David Renner. She worked for many years in private practice with Dr. Nathaniel Nord, all in the field of neurology. She loved to string beads, read and was an easy chair gardener, who was looking forward to retirement and putting her gardening skills into practice, along with her cat, Dillon. Lois was a wonderful grandmother to Madison and Hayley and was a friend to everyone she met. She is beloved by her family and many friends and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her son, John M. Hubbard (Brenda), El Dorado Hills, CA; sister, Alayne L. Peterson, Salt Lake City; nephews, Alan, Brady and Drew Peterson; six grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, grand-niece, Hanna Peterson, and best friend, Dee Betenes. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. in the Mayfield City Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of her life that evening at the home of her sister, 1623 Millbrook Road, Salt Lake City, Utah at 7:00 P.M.
