Lora Lee Peterson

Richfield, Utah - Lora Lee Jensen Peterson, age 67, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2017 in Richfield, after a long struggle with COPD. She was born April 21, 1949 in Richfield, a daughter of Duane and Virginia Whyte Jensen. She was raised in both Salt Lake City and Richfield and attended South High School and Richfield High School. She graduated from the BYU Art and Design College. Lora married William Gary "Bill" Peterson on New Year's Eve in 1981. Through 35 years of marriage their greatest joy was raising their son Michael and spending time with his family, wife, Natalie and sons, Sam and Liam. With her artistic talents, Lora created a beautiful home and yard for her family. Some of Lora's proudest accomplishments were being instrumental in establishing Sevier County Animal Shelter, C.A.R.E and getting the STOP signs placed on the corners of Ashman Elementary. Lora is survived by her husband Bill, daughter-in-law Natalie and grandsons Sam and Liam Peterson, all of Richfield. She is preceded in death by her parents and her beloved son, Michael. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 17, 2017 at 12 Noon in the Springer Turner Funeral Home Chapel, 260 North 400 West in Richfield, where friends may call for viewing Sunday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or Monday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
