Monroe, Utah – Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Luther Charley Skidmore, age 83, of Monroe, passed away November 4, 2019 in Orem, Utah. He was born February 6, 1936 in Bryson City, North Carolina, a son of Olie Joe and Bertha Miranda Cooper Skidmore Jr. He married Patricia Allene Hake July 18, 1958 in San Diego, California. They were later divorced. He married Sherry Kay Frazier April 14, 1962 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They were later divorced. He married Patricia Ann Pruitt June 15, 2004 in Grenada, California. He served his country in the United States Marine Corp for 4 years and was honorably discharged. Luther was a member of the Mira Loma Missionary Baptist Church in Mira Loma, California where he served as a Sunday School Teacher and Worship Leader. He went to work as a self-employed heavy equipment operator in construction in 1976 in California and worked until he retired. After he retired he and Trish eventually ended up in Monroe where they have live since 2002. He loved to travel, invest in real estate and sing his favorite country songs. He is survived by his wife, Trish Bradley of Monroe; children: Lindey Charleyne McDonough, Kaye Frances Walker and Charles Joseph Skidmore; 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; siblings: William “Eugene” Skidmore, Mattie Belle ”Patsy” Pridemore, Bertha Miranda Fish, Carolyn Jean Marler and Douglas “James” Skidmore. He is preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Christina Raye Harvey; and his siblings: Olie Joe “OJ” Skidmore, Bobby “Jack” Skidmore, Betty Lou Skidmore, Mary Sue Skidmore, Maggie Lee Nichols, William “Riley” Skidmore, Eula Mae Rogers, Raymond “Lester” Skimore and Marjorie “Peggy” Childers. Graveside services with military honors accorded by the Sevier Valley American Legion Post #37 and the Utah Honor Guard will be held on Friday, November 8, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. in the Monroe City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
