Las Vegas, Nevada/Joseph, Utah - Marvin Keith Schubert, Sr., age 75, a kind, gentle and loving man, passed away February 4, 2011 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born October 2, 1935 in Hillsboro, Iowa, a son of John Lloyd and Margaret Isabelle Reichley Schubert, and grew up in Burlington, Iowa. Marvin graduated from Burlington High School and worked for Champion Spark Plug. He married Beverly Jean Gohn, October 10, 1955 in Ottumwa, Iowa. They are the parents of two children, Jean and Marvin Jr. Marvin and his family moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in August of 1969 and resided there until his death. He had his own janitorial and parking lot sweeping business in Las Vegas. Prior to retiring, he worked for a private pay telephone company as a phone service technician. Marvin and Beverly had a second home in Joseph, Utah. They spent as much time there as possible after his retirement. Marvin loved 4-wheeling, fishing, watching gold prospecting shows and was an avid fan of all NASCAR racing. He enjoyed watching any show having to do with cars or car repair. He loved spending time with his family and friends and never met a stranger in his life. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Beverly Jean, of Las Vegas; his daughter, Jean and his son, Marvin Jr. (Sherry St. Peters); three grandchildren: Chance Schubert, David Hanson and Danny Hanson; several sisters and brothers-in-law; numerous nieces and nephews in the mid-west. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Charles Nelson Schubert, Harold Schubert and Willard Schubert; sister, Mary Schubert Olomon. Funeral Services will be held Friday, February 11, 2011 at 12 Noon in the Springer Turner Funeral Home Chapel, 260 North 400 West in Richfield, Utah, where friends may call for viewing Friday morning from 10 :30 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Monroe City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
