Aurora, Utah - Our kind and beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Michel Gerald Colby, age 70, passed away suddenly on August 8, 2019 at his home in Aurora. He was born September 18, 1948 in Salina, a son of Gerald Charles and Raymonde Helen Viel Colby. He graduated from North Sevier High School, Class of 1967 where he was active in the Future Farmers of America. He married Rosalie Wasden February 10, 1968 in Aurora. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple May 1, 1971. He was a rancher and farmer in the North Sevier area. Michel served as Secretary for the Willow Bend Canal Company and was a surveyor for Utah Road. He retired as the Fleet Operator for Deseret Industries for the LDS Church. Michel was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as Finance Clerk, in the Sunday School Presidency and as the Building Representative. Michel enjoyed drag racing and cars, fishing and the outdoors, all kinds of mechanics, maintenance and construction. He had a love for cooking and making the best tasting food. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed making people smile. Michel is survived by his loving wife, Rosalie, of Aurora; sons: Mark and Amy Colby of Payson; Tyler and Christa Colby of Salem; 3 grandchildren: Seth Colby, Zach Colby and Annie Colby; brother and sister: Steve and Jani Colby of Salina; Karen and Collin Hales of Richfield. He is preceded in death by his mother, Raymonde V. Colby; his father, Gerald C. Colby; his step-mother, Vaunda Colby and a brother, David Olsen. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at 11:30 A.M. in the Aurora City Cemetery. Friends may call for viewing at the Aurora LDS Ward Chapel, Wednesday morning from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. prior to the services. Burial will be in the Aurora City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
