Raquel Bird Redington

Central Valley, Utah - Our kind and loving mother, daughter, sister and friend, Raquel Bird Redington, age 46, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on December 21, 2014 in Richfield. She was born November 24, 1968 in Richfield, a daughter of Thomas O. and Helen Young Bird. She graduated from Richfield High School, Class of 1987. She married Martin Gallegos in 1987 in Richfield. They were later divorced. She married Ryan Redington in Salt Lake City in 2003. They were later divorced. After Raquel graduated from High School, she moved to Las Vegas in 1989 and returned back to Richfield in 1991. She later moved north where she lived in Salt Lake City, Bountiful and Centerfield. She and her family returned back to Richfield in 2009 to be near her family and friends. Raquel worked at the Sevier Valley Hospital, Salt Lake Regional Hospital, Lake View Hospital in Bountiful and at a Care Center in Bountiful. Raquel lit up the room when she entered with her beautiful smile and bright eyes. She was fun loving and had many friends. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her children: Jade McCall (Punky) Bird and Rayn Thomas (Bucky) Redington, both of Central Valley; her parents, Tom and Helen Bird of Central Valley; a brother, Ryan Bird of Central Valley; and her boy friend and best friend, Jay Standley of Richfield. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 12 Noon in the Springer Turner Funeral Home Chapel in Richfield, where friends may call for viewing Saturday morning from 10:00 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will take place at a later date under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
