Ray E. Butcher Caineville, Utah - Our family patriarch and friend, Ray Edgar Butcher, age 89, of Caineville, died Sunday, June 1, 2003 at his home in Caineville. He was born December 23, 1913 in Pocatello, Idaho, a son of Roy Edgar and Victoria Villanova Butcher. He married Remona Dalton, October 3, 1942 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Ray was a truck driver and had lived in Rose Park in the Salt Lake City area for about forty years. He and Remona moved to Caineville 8 years ago. He enjoyed camping and fishing and he loved rock hounding. He had been a member of the Elks Lodge for a short time. Ray is survived by his wife, Remona, of Caineville; children: Larry Butcher of North Salt Lake City; Mona Rae and Forrest Sims of Caineville; Eddie and Sharon Butcher of Salt Lake City; six grandchildren: Rey and Lilly Butcher, Larry Butcher, Steve and Loretta Butcher, Jason Butcher, Marcie and David Jacobs, Kari and Chad Jolley; ten great-grandchildren: Max, Ben, Samuel, Anthony, Brandy, Brittani and Austin Butcher, Nikki, Troy and Joshua Jacobs; a sister: Irene Henery of Pocatello, Idaho. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Julianne Butcher, two brothers: Richard Butcher and Dot Butcher and one sister, Emma Anderson. At his request, Rays remains have been cremated and family services were held at the home of his son in Salt Lake City. His cremains will be scattered over the land that he so loved in Wayne County.
