Richfield, Utah - Our kind and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Doris Renee Shaw Nielson, age 82, died September 29, 2011 in Richfield. She was born January 30, 1929 in Aurora, Utah, a daughter of Lawrence W. and LaPrell Hendrickson Shaw. She graduated from Richfield High School, Class of 1947. She married Phillip Ray Nielson, August 20, 1947 in Venice, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple June 25, 1960. Phil died February 16, 2010. Renee was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in the Relief Society. She enjoyed sewing, doing handiwork, gardening, hunting, fishing, camping and spending time at their cabin at Accord Lake. She is survived by her two children: David J. and Trudie Nielson, Pamela and Roger Orton, all Richfield; four grandchildren: Roger Kevin and Cassidy Orton; Cori Lynn and David Roberts; Matthew Mayo and Samantha Nielson; Kinsey Lee and Jeff Hansen; six great-grandchildren: Tavis Roberts, Kadison Roberts, Kambree Roberts, Kapreece Hansen, Harleigh Hansen and Hazel Orton; two sisters and one brother: Shirley and Kay Mickelsen of Salina; Lorraine and John Black of Boise, Idaho; Deloy and Shirley Shaw of Beaver Dam, Arizona. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Donald Shaw, Leon Shaw and Verdon Shaw. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. in the Springer Turner Funeral Home Chapel, 260 North 400 West in Richfield, where friends may call for viewing Monday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or Tuesday morning from 11:00 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
