Shirley Ann Sullivan

Shirley N. Sullivan 1934 - 2003 Richfield/South Jordan, Utah -Shirley Ann Nelson Sullivan, age 68, of South Jordan, Utah and formerly of Richfield and St. George, died February 12, 2003 at her home in South Jordan. She was born June 4, 1934 in Richfield, Utah, a daughter of Asahel Neil and Reva Hunt Nelson. Shirley graduated from Richfield High School, Class of 1952. She attended the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, where she was active in Delta Delta Delta Sorority. She graduated from the U of U in 1956 with honors. Shirley Ann married Dr. James Salzner Sullivan, June 24, 1955 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were later divorced. Dr. Sullivan preceded her in death, June 16, 1986. She spent her married life in Pocatello, Idaho, where for many years, she was Chairperson of the Pocatello Medical Auxiliary, a Cub Scout leader and long time, active member of the Pocatello 21st LDS Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Shirley was an accomplished pianist and painter. She is survived by her children: Christine Droghei, Ammon, ID; James N. and Leslie Sullivan, Thousand Oaks, CA; Stephanie and Kirk Brandow, Haverford, PA; 13 grandchildren: Alexa Burchmore, Taylor Burchmore, Chase Brandow, Ashley Wheeler, Nathan Wheeler, Michael Wheeler, Matthew Wheeler, Danielle Wheeler, Devon Droghei, Alyssa Droghei, Kaitlyn Sullivan, James Sullivan and Emily Sullivan; her mother, Reva Nelson, of Hurricane, UT; three brothers: Chris Nelson, Truckee, CA; Dan Nelson, Orem, UT; Teddy Nelson, Potomac, MD. She was preceded in death by her father, Asahel Nelson and one son, Raymond Eugene Sullivan. Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 22, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. in the Springer Turner Funeral Home Chapel, 260 North 400 West, in Richfield, where friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow in the Richfield City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
