Wanda Mary Curtis

Wanda Mary Curtis "Together Forever" Aurora, Utah - Our kind and beloved mother, grandmother and sister, Wanda Mary Denison Curtis, age 93, of Aurora, died November 30, 2003 in Richfield, Utah of causes incident to age. She was born August 13, 1910 in Centerfield, Utah, a daughter of William Hans and Anna Marie (Mary) Jensen Denison. She graduated from Gunnison High School. She married Charles Merrill Curtis, June 20, 1934 in the Manti LDS Temple. He died July 16, 1987. Wanda Mary was an active member of the LDS Church serving in all the auxiliaries. She and her husband, Merrill, served as Temple Ordinance Workers in the Manti Temple for over 10 years. She enjoyed doing genealogy and worked in the Extration Program for the Church. She was an active member of the D.U.P. Camp Willow Bend of Aurora. Wanda Mary enjoyed quilting, crocheting, knitting and all kinds of handiwork. She is survived by her children: Mary Louise and Dale Callister, Salt Lake City; Nora Faye and Larry Cannell, Houston, TX; LaVon and Marianne Curtis, Aurora; Wendell Curtis, Idaho Falls, ID; Kathleen and Dan Jenkins, Bedford, WY; Ann Dallas Atwood, Salina; Leland and Jacqueline Curtis, Aurora; Roberta Curtis, Richfield; George Crowther, Salt Lake City; Ron Gilcher, Great Falls, MT; 42 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Ernest and Ola Denison, San Angelo, TX; May Denison, West Valley City; Theda Denison, Manti; Homer Whitlock, Sandy. She was preceded in death by four children: LaMar Curtis; Marvin and his wife, Rose Marie Curtis; Joy Gilcher and Darlene Crowther; and four brothers and 1 sister: Floyd Denison, Vernal Denison, Clarence Denison, Miles Denison and Ruby Whitlock. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 5, 2003 at 12 Noon in the Aurora 2nd LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Salina, Thursday from 6 to 8 P.M. and at the ward chapel in Aurora, Friday from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Aurora City Cemetery.
