Afton E. Anderson

Aurora, Utah - Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Afton Ernstsen Anderson, age 79, of Aurora, died July 24, 2008 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born January 13, 1929 in Aurora, Utah, a daughter of Hyrum Alton and Della Dean Shaw Ernstsen. She married Douglas Neil Anderson, September 5, 1947 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple December 9, 1955. Doug died June 10, 2003. Afton and Doug spent 28 years living in Anaheim, California, beginning in 1962 and after retiring in 1990, they returned to Aurora, the home they never emotionally left while in California. She is loved and will be missed by her children: Courtney V. and Sharon Anderson, Sheldon H. and Laura Anderson, Sherman K. and JoAnn Anderson, Clay Barry and Donna Anderson, all of California; Neil D. and Robin Anderson of Aurora; Shadara and Brian Arn of Kaysville. She leaves 22 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, and is survived by two brothers and one sister: Terral and Michelle Ernstsen of Texas; Janna Hansen and Foy Ernstsen, both of Ogden. She is greeted in death by her husband, Doug; a son, Gardell Anderson and her parents. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. in the Aurora 1st LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Salina, Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or Wednesday morning at the church in Aurora from 11:30 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Aurora City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
