Salina/Koosharem, Utah - Alden "Tilt" Torgersen, age 75, passed away May 21, 2016 in Centerfield, Utah. He was born September 2, 1940 in Salina, Utah, a son of Elmer Levi and Leona Winget Torgersen. He was raised in Koosharem, where he milked a lot of cows and worked on the family farm. He like to hunt and fish and spend time up at Fish Lake. He went to school in Salina where he graduated from North Sevier High School. He lived in Salina during the school year with his older, married sisters. He then went back to Koosharem and worked on the family farm until he was 37 years old. He moved around for awhile, living in Ticaboo, where he drove a fuel truck and also worked in a Uranium Mill. He also lived in Bagdad, Arizona, where he worked on a mill crew. He also lived in Wayne County. He married Dixie Moosman and they were later divorced. He moved to Salina to help his brother on his farm and then ended up working on the Willow Bend Ranch in Lost Creek, for 30 years. Alden enjoyed painting, dancing, listening to music and loved being outdoors and farming. He was a member of the LDS Church, where he was a Melchizedek Priesthood holder and recently was able to receive his endowments in the Payson LDS Temple. Alden is survived by his children: James Criss and Bonnie Torgersen of Salina; Paula and Kenny Orton of Panguitch; Susan Burnett of Richfield; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren; sister and brother: Lois and Delbert Christensen of West Jordan; Thad Torgersen of Cedar City; Milan and Velma A. Torgersen of Aurora. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Tammy D. Johnson; grandchildren: Haley Burnett, Russell Galloway and Tracy Crane; siblings: Kyle and Shirley Torgersen; Louise and Bud Larsen; Neldo Torgersen; brother-in-law: Don Brown, and sister-in-law: Cleola Torgersen. Grave side services will be held Friday, May 27, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. in the Koosharem Cemetery. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Salina, Thursday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. Burial will be in the Koosharem Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
