Allan Laws

August 3, 1954 — September 22, 2019

Redmond, Utah – Gone Fishin’…Our beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Uncle, Brother, and Friend, Allan Gale Laws, age 65, returned home to our Heavenly Father on Sunday, September 22, 2019 at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. Allan was born on August 3, 1954 in Salt Lake City, the youngest son of Chester and Arlyne Laws. He graduated from Granite High School, Class of 1972. He married the love of his life, Christine Hales on April 10, 1981 in the Manti LDS Temple. He was fiercely loyal to his “Sunshine” and worked tirelessly to provide for and protect her. Allan was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was involved in many church activities. He served faithfully in his ward’s Bishopric, as a Sunday School President, and Young Men’s President. He was also an active member of his community and loved coaching and supporting the youth, working on the Sevier County Search and Rescue, and the Salina City Chamber of Commerce. He participated with various youth programs including The Boy Scouts of America. Allan had an incredibly generous heart and was a good friend. If he saw someone in need he never failed to help whether it was someone stranded by the side of the road, or in financial need. Allan worked hard and was a great handyman who could fix anything. Alongside his family he built a beautiful cabin and loved to spend time there. He enjoyed hunting and four wheeling with his children and grandchildren. In his retirement years, Allan discovered a love of fly fishing, gardening and experimental cooking. He loved his weekly poker nights and breakfast with the Denny’s crew. He loved wheeling and dealing and truly believed that, ‘One man’s junk was another man’s treasure.’ Allan’s greatest love was his beloved family. They were his number one source of joy, and he loved spending time with them. His children and grandchildren loved exchanging the ASL sign for “I Love You” with him and he always made each of them feel special and loved. He is survived by his loving wife, Chris of Redmond; his sons: Garrett (Emily) Laws of Fruit Heights; Trint (Rebecca) Laws of Eagle Mountain; his daughters: Karli (Nathan) Barney of Centerfield; Shaylee (Brent) Gale of Eagle Mountain; his grandchildren: Holland and William Laws of Fruit Heights; London, Ayden, and Beckham Laws of Eagle Mountain; Molli, Griffin, and Brooks Barney of Centerfield; Grayson and Averie Gale of Eagle Mountain. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Grant Laws; Robert “Wolf” Laws; Leonard Laws; Leon Laws; his parents-in-law Willis and Anna Hales. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, September 28, 2019 in the Redmond 1st Ward Chapel, Redmond, Utah. Friends may call for viewing at the Ward Chapel Friday evening from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. or Saturday morning from 9:00 A.M to 10:30 A.M. prior to services. The Laws family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Dr. Cary Judy, Dr. Steven Wallentine, and the Bone Marrow Transplant and ICU teams at LDS Hospital for the exceptional and loving care they provided. Burial will be in the Redmond City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Homes of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
