Allen C. Williams Salina, Utah - Our devoted husband, father and grandfather, Allen C. Williams, age 86, passed away December 22, 2003 at his home in Salina. He was born June 18, 1917 in Kingston, Piute County, Utah, a son of Heber C. and Adella Allen Williams. He married Jacqueline Jones, April 28, 1944 in the Mesa Arizona LDS Temple. He served in the U.S. Navy at the Naval Hospital in San Diego, CA until World War II ended. All of his life, Allen served as a disciple of Jesus Christ, serving in the Texas Louisiana Mission for 26 months, extending 2 months due to war. He was a High Priest in the Salina 4th LDS Ward at the time of his death. He served as ward finance clerk, ward and stake choir director, stake missionary and in numerous other assignments. He had a love of education with degrees ranging from an AA at San Diego Jr. College; BA at University of Wyoming, BS from Brigham Young University. He then shared his love of knowledge with the youth in Wyoming and Utah. He retired from Kanab High School as Media Co-ordinator. He loved horses and was a member of the Salina American Legion Post #36. Allen is survived by his wife; son: Heber and Mona Williams; grandchildren: Tera and Gordon Gates; Trina, Jarom, Logan and Ashley Williams; Cory and Angela DeMille, Sunny and Honey DeMille, Tiffany D. and Robert Montgomery; 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Janet DeMille, sisters: Glenna Birkinshaw, LaJune Nebeker and Rita Kimball. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 27, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. in the Salina LDS Stake Center. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Salina, Friday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. and at the Stake Center Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the services. Burial with military honors accorded by the Salina American Legion Post #36 will be in the Salina Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
