Allen Willardson

Gunnison, Utah - Our kind and beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Allen Ivan Willardson, age 84, of Gunnison, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on May 4, 2018 of a massive heart attack. He was born April 29, 1934 in Gunnison, a son of Marlin Earl and Lorraine Roper Pickett Willardson. He attended schools in Gunnison. Allen joined the United States Army and served his country during the Korean Conflict. He married Rita Coy Frye April 6, 1954 in Richfield, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple April 20, 1978. She died September 18, 2013. He then married Nada Ann Pickett Stillman September 5, 2015 in Gunnison, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple November 29, 2016. Allen owned and operated Allen's Body Shop in Gunnison for over 50 years. He was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in various callings. He and Rita served a mission at Cove Fort and he enjoyed helping in the Church where ever he was needed. Allen enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, working with wood and on cars. He enjoyed rides in the mountains and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Nada, of Gunnison; children: Debbie and John Petrie of Price; Tammy Skerl of Gunnison; Ivan and Dee Willardson of Mayfield; Danette Brown of Centerfield; step-children: Karen and David Fitzwater of Elko, Nevada; Sherrie and Kevin Nordgren of Tremonton; Shane and Vickie Stillman of Herriman; Braxton Stillman of Sandy and Kenneth Stillman of Riverton; 12 grandchildren; 14 step-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren with 1 on the way; and 14 step-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; four brothers and two sisters: Oren, Kerry, Earl and Dee Willardson; Melba and Vonda Talbot. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 10, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. in the Gunnison LDS Stake Center where friends may call for viewing Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or Thursday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the services. Burial with military honors accorded by the Gunnison American Legion Post #104 and the Utah Honor Guard will be in the Gunnison City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
