Alta T. Albrecht

April 7, 1913 — August 10, 2006

Fremont, Utah - Alta Fern Taylor Albrecht passed away on August 10, 2006 at the age of 93, as a result of complications from a fall in her home. She was born on April 7, 1913 in Richfield, Utah, a daughter of Robert Allen and Myrtle Elizabeth Peterson Taylor. She learned the value of hard work at an early age by working in the home, in the family store, and on the family farm. Her sisters and brother were her best friends growing up and the closeness has remained for a lifetime. She married Rex LeRoy Albrecht June 1, 1934 in the Manti LDS Temple and they became the parents of six children: Joyce Cox (Roger), Karma Revas (Jim), Stan Albrecht (Joyce), David Albrecht (Kristine), Don Albrecht (Carol), and Karl Albrecht (Jeri). Alta worked for 40 years at the State Bank of Wayne in Loa. There she made many friends and loved her work associates and the bank customers. She was the master of being able to work outside the home while admirably carrying out her duties as a wife, mother, and homemaker. Each summer she would raise a large garden. She also enjoyed the beautiful flowers that adorned her yard. She enjoyed serving in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as a Relief Society President, as Stake Young Women’s President and a counselor in the Stake Relief Society Presidency. Her favorite calling was that of Golden Gleaner Leader. She developed a loving lifetime bond with the young women in the program. She herself was given the award of Honorary Golden Gleaner. She always stressed to her six children that they receive a college education. As a result of this emphasis, each of her six children graduated from college, four of the six completed graduate degrees. Alta loved to write poetry and send cards to people. Many have been blessed and uplifted by being recipients of this talent and gift that she possessed. Alta loved her family and her posterity has now exceeded 100. Children, spouses, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the recipients of her love and kindness. Thanks goes to Alta’s dear friends who cared and watched out for her during recent years. Words cannot express to those dear people the gratitude of the family for their caring and kindesss. Alta is preceded in death by her husband, Rex; her daughter Karma and husband, Jim; her parents, Robert and Myrtle; and her sisters, Rula, NaDean, Myrtle, Anna and Ruth.
