Amey Quarnberg Jensen

March 1, 1923 — January 20, 2009

Aurora, Utah - Our kind and beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Amey Chloe Allred Quarnberg Smith Jensen, age 85, died January 20, 2009 in Richfield, Utah. She was born March 1, 1923 in Fremont, Utah, a daughter of Willis Ervin and Ruth Durfey Allred. She married Floyd H. Quarnberg, July 10, 1939 in Salina, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. He died November 20, 1976. She married Marvin Smith, June 14, 1989 in Aurora, Utah. He died April 26, 1990. She married Stan Jensen, June 28, 1991 in Aurora and he died February 9, 1993. Amey was an active member of the LDS Church, where she served as a Primary Teacher, Librarian, a Visiting Teacher and Home Making Leader. She worked as a 4-H Leader, was active in the Senior Citizens Center and worked in the Tourist Information Booth. She enjoyed doing ceramics, loved camping, crocheting, jigsaw puzzles and quilting, but her favorite thing to do was spend time with her family. Amey was a caretaker for many of the widows in Aurora, taking them to get their mail, to the store or where every they needed to go. She enjoyed serving them and being their friend. Amey is survived by her children: Leon and Dixie Quarnberg, Allen and Mary Quarnberg, all of Redmond; Ellis and Julia Quarnberg of Aurora; 15 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Odessa and Arlen Davis of Tucson, Arizona. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jaquetta Tutor; two sons, Glade and Gale Quarnberg; three sisters and three brothers: Sabra Stanley, Alice Shaw, Donna Helms, Dee Allred, Dan Allred and Kay Allred. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 24, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. in the Aurora 1st LDS Ward Chapel, 85 North Main Street in Aurora, where friends may call for viewing Friday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Aurora City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
