Anita Thorsen

Salina, Utah - Anita Riley Thorsen, age 73, passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2013 in Malad City, Idaho, surrounded by her family. She was born December 13, 1939 in Torrey, Utah, a daughter of John Conway and Christena Geneva Allen Riley. She grew up in Wayne County, Sevier County and Utah County. She graduated from North Sevier High School, Class of 1959. Anita married her sweetheart, Hyrum M. Thorsen, May 26, 1962 in Spanish Fork, Utah. The couple lived in Salina, Utah, where they soon welcomed three children: Thomas (Tommy) Hyrum Thorsen, Tony Don Thorsen and Tracy Lynn Thorsen. Hyrum and Anita lived in Salina for fifty plus years, raising their children. She is survived by her husband, Hyrum M. Thorsen of Malad City, Idaho; children: Tony Thorsen of Provo; Tracy Lynn and Wesley Tapp of Malad City, Idaho; six grandchildren: Trevon and Lisa Tapp, Owen and Lindzee Tapp, Conway Tapp, April Tapp, Katie Tapp and Darren Tapp; a sister, Arlene Emmons of Provo. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Conway Riley and Christena Cloward; two sisters: Leona Erickson Oryall and Ardella Riley Emmons; two brothers: Ronald Ericksen and Daniel (Danny) Ericksen; and her oldest son, Thomas (Tommy) Thorsen. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 12 Noon in the Salina LDS Stake Center. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Salina, Friday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or at the Stake Center, Saturday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Salina Pioneer Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
