Anna H. Gardner

April 5, 1912 — June 16, 2005

Anna Marthine Hansen Gardner, age 93, died June 16, 2005 at the home a daughter in Richfield, Utah, of complications from a stroke. She was born April 5, 1912 in Clay Springs/Pinedale, Arizona, a daughter of Jens Peter and Anna Sofia Birgette Petra Pedersen Hansen. She married George Herbert Gardner June 28, 1933 in the Mesa Arizona LDS Temple. He died May 29, 1999. Anna had lived in Show Low and Snowflake, Arizona where she served as Relief Society President, Primary Trail Blazer Leader, a mission to assist the Navajo Relief Society, 4 H Club Leader and numerous other activities with the youth of the area. She and Herbert served missions in the Georgia-Tallahassee, Florida, Nauvoo and North Carolina areas. She served in the Mesa Arizona Temple in many capacities as a temple worker. Anna is well know for her garden on the lot where McDonalds now stands in Snowflake. Anna is survived by her 7 children: Lorana and Norris Carter of Sandy, Utah; Sofia and John Yardley of Centerfield, Utah; Nelba and Thain Miskin of Mesa, Arizona; Frances and Darrel Hintze of Richfield, Utah; Herberta and Harold Millett of Mesa, Arizona; Ted and Marjorie Gardner of Littleton, Colorado; Guy and Elizabeth Gardner of Reno, Nevada; 37 grandchildren; 97 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 4 sisters: Richard Hansen, William Hansen, Christena Adams, Emma Adams, Orson Hansen, Alfred Hansen, Niels Hansen, Sena Gillispie and stillborn infant Sofie Hansen. Funeral service were held in Sandy, Utah and Mesa, Arizona and burial was in the Snowflake Arizona Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
