Salina, Utah - Arda Lucille Johnson Burr, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, returned to live with our Heavenly Father on Sunday, April 1, 2018, in Centerfield, Utah, after a valiant five-year battle with cancer. The second of six children, Arda was born on August 21, 1933, in Aurora, Utah, to Louis Irvin and Mary Lucille Kennedy Johnson. She grew up in Aurora and graduated from North Sevier High School in 1951. She married her eternal sweetheart Wayne B. Burr on April 17, 1953, in the Manti Temple. In life, Arda exhibited many noble qualities, one of which was her ability to overcome obstacles with a positive attitude while maintaining her strong faith and testimony of Jesus Christ.Arda was patient, thoughtful, nurturing, and lived what she taught. While never seeking praise, she was known as one to continually give service, particularly to her handicapped son Kent for the past 64 years. She loved serving in many positions in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including Primary and Relief Society Presidents, and her favorites, Visiting Teacher and Nursery Teacher. Family was important for Arda, and she always expressed her love for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren through her actions. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, canning, Family History, and gardening. She and her husband Wayne always looked forward to their summer outdoor projects in their beautiful yard. She is survived by her four children, Kent of Salina; Craig (Jackie) of Spanish Fork; Carolyn (Russel) Christensen of Richfield; Linda (Merrill) Hugentobler of Moab; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, brotherNorman C. (Joyce) Johnson of Elk Grove, California; sister Margaret (Terry) Nordfelt, of Salina; sisters-in-law Joy Johnson of Holden and Ann Burr of Salina; and brother-in-law Brent (Janece) Burr of Taylorsville. She was preceded in death by her husband Wayne, parents, and brothers Louis Larkin, Myron Elias, and Dwenden Johnson. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 6, 2018, at 11:00 AM at the Salina Creek Ward Chapel, 87 South 100 East in Salina, where friends may call for viewing Friday morning from 9:00 – 10:30 prior to the services. Interment will be in the Salina Eastside Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
