Redmond, Utah - Henry “Arden” Horne passed away November 30, 2021 at the age of 81. Arden was born June 11, 1940 in Salina, Utah to John Albert and Virginia Gates Horne. He was born the third of four children. He grew up in Salina, helping on his family’s farm and attending school there. He married LaRae Baker November 26, 1966. Together they had three children; Chris, Brad and Amber. They later divorced. He married Karen Eames Benson on 12/12/1987. They later were sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple on 12/12/1992. Karen and Arden had no children together but he became a stepfather to Robert, Scott, April and Chris. Arden served in the Army and was deployed in Korea during the Korean war. After serving his time, he was given an honorable discharge. He worked and retired from Operating Engineers Local Union #3. Arden loved most outdoor activities but his favorites were riding horses, fishing and riding on his side by side. Karen and Arden rode quite frequently on their side by side on many adventures. He enjoyed riding all over the area on his horse helping round up cattle for the Gurney’s, he made many wonderful memories doing this. He loved living up his dream of being a cowboy. Arden was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He valued his testimony of Jesus Christ and the opportunities he had to serve in the church. Arden had a great love for his family. He valued every moment with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We all were very blessed to have been taught by his examples of strength, endurance, kindness and trustworthiness. Heaven truly gained a great man. Arden is survived by his wife; Karen Horne, Siblings; Arnold (Sherry) Horne, Children; Chris (Patty) Horne, Brad Horne, Amber (Paul) Loncar, Step-Children; Robert Tyler, Scott (Amber)Tyler, April (Tyler) Hunt, Chris (Keri) Benson, 21 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren. Arden was preceded in death by his parents, John Albert and Virginia Gates Horne, Siblings: “Baby” Horne, Esther Horne Jenkins and Daughter in law: Billy Ann Tyler. Celebration of life will be Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Redmond LDS Church. With a lunch to follow.
