Our kind and beloved mother and granny, Arlene Dorthy Christiansen Christensen, age 94, stepped through the veil into the arms of her loved ones on June 8, 2022, at her home in Centerfield. Arlene was born December 12, 1927, in Dividend, Utah, a daughter of Arthur Clarence and Zell May Sorensen Christiansen. She attended Gunnison Valley High School and later went back to receive her diploma. She married Vernal Jesse Christensen on June 21, 1944, in Centerfield, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. Vernal passed away on March 15, 1992. Arlene was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she served in many callings as a Primary Worker, Ward Librarian, and in the Relief Society. She also served the community on the Centerfield Old Folks Committee. Arlene had many hobbies and interests. She liked to cook, crochet, and knit. She enjoyed gardening. She loved crafts including making jewelry, and ceramics. She liked to go for car rides. However, her biggest interest was her beloved family. She is survived by her daughter Marie and Robert Miller of Centerfield; her daughter-in-law Rose Christensen of Richfield; her sister Silvia Christensen of Mayfield; her brother Jay LaVon Sant of South Jordan; 10 grandchildren, and many great and great-great-grandchildren. Arlene was preceded in death by her parents and her husband; two sons Glen A. Christensen and Jesse Vernal Christensen; a brother Clarence Christiansen; two sisters Kate Sant and Nina Westenskow; three sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, in the Centerfield LDS Ward Chapel, 230 South Main Street, Centerfield, Utah. Friends may call for viewing from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM prior to services. Burial will be in the Centerfield Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Homes of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
