Arlyne Laws

Redmond, Utah - Our kind and beloved mother, grandmother and sister, Arlyne Virginia Hansen Laws, age 85, of Redmond, died November 17, 2006 in Mayfield, Utah. She was born February 8, 1921 in Rawlins, Wyoming, a daughter of Arthur Clarence and Sophia Jensen Hansen. She grew up in Provo and graduated from Lincoln High School. Arlyne married Chester Hart Laws January 25, 1946 in Provo, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple June 9, 1961. He died April 11, 1990. She was an active member of the LDS Church serving as Relief Society President, extraction worker and numerous other callings. She served a full time LDS Mission in Seattle, Washington and Bowling Green, Ohio. Arlyne enjoyed fishing, gardening, ceramics, rock collecting and spending time with her family. She is survived by her three sons: A. Grant and Kathy Laws of Bountiful; Robert Wolf and Linda Laws of Cedar City; Allan and Christine Laws of Redmond; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 step-daughter and 2 step-sons: Darlene Carlson, Leonard Laws and Leon Laws, all of Utah; brother and sisters: Gale and Claudia Hansen of Provo; Jean Weight and Bonnie Robison, both of Farmington; Jeri Smith of Price. She was preceded in death by 1 granddaughter; 1 great-granddaughter; four brothers and two sisters: Charles Hansen, Don Hansen, Glen Hansen, Jimmy Hansen, Francis James and Barbara Losser. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 22, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. in the Redmond 2nd LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Salina, Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or at the ward chapel in Redmond, Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Provo City Cemetery Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 P.M. under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
