Art B. Jackson

Arthur B. Jackson Hanksville, Utah - Arthur Baker Jackson, age 79, of Hanksville, died March 6, 2003 in Richfield, Utah of complications from pneumonia. He was born April 11, 1923 in Bicknell, Utah, a son of John Henry Jackson Jr. and Muriel Maude Baker Jackson. Arthur was an active member of the LDS Church. He loved children, and although he was never able to have his own, he always had a hug and piece of candy for all. Arthur was “Uncle Art” to all who knew him and affectionately called the “Candy Man” by the children. Since his grandmother’s Bakers death, he has lived with Dee and Ethel Jackson during the summers and spent the winters with his sister, LaPreal, in Murray, Utah, until she moved nearer to him in Caineville. He is survived by his sister, LaPreal Taylor of Caineville; half-sisters and half-brothers: Edith Malcom of Salt Lake City; LaRee Miner of California, Alton LaVon Jackson of Washington; Jean Taylor and Richard Jackson, both of Payson; Donna Payne of Provo; nephews and nieces: James Taylor, Wells Hicks, Robert White, Ranae Hicks, Delilah Murphy and JoAnn Perry. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother: Seberan Jackson; sisters: Marjorie White and Fredonia Jackson and step-sister: Vilma Ann Phillips. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2002 at 1:00 P.M. in the Hanksville LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call for viewing Wednesday morning from 11:00 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Caineville Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
