Marysvale, Utah – Arthur Dick Roth, age 75, passed away November 11, 2020 in Murray, Utah. He was born October 19, 1945 in Marianna, Florida, a son of Arthur Frederick and Kathryn Eileen Ward Roth. He graduated from Piute High School, Class of 1964. He took courses in Business Law and Retail Management at Utah Technical College in Provo. He served his country during the Vietnam War, was sent overseas with the 535th Ordinance Company, 7th Army Division in Hohenfels, Germany. After returning from the military, he served in the US Army National Guard. Arthur married Linda Nell Waters March 11, 1966 in Richfield, Utah. They had a son, Michael Scot Roth. They were later divorced. He married Janie Louise Avery August 16, 1973 in Ely, Nevada. They had a son, Nathaniel Arthur Roth. They were later divorced. He married Carrie Jo Hansen February 25, 1982 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple July 17, 1987. They had a daughter, Carly Jewel Roth and a son, Jason Andrew Roth and an adopted son, Jacob Frederick Roth. They were later divorced. Arthur was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in various positions including 10 years as a counselor in two Bishoprics, Scouting Co-coordinator, Ward Clerk, Financial Clerk and taught Temple Preparation Classes. Art spent 30 years as a retail manager in Utah, Idaho and California. The last 12 years of work, he was training people with disabilities to become self sufficient at the Deseret Industries Store in Richfield and was also the store manager. He enjoyed traveling to different stakes and wards throughout the southern half of Utah, teaching the principles of helping one another through Deseret Industries. He enjoyed camping and fishing with his sons and really loved working in his yard and growing wild flowers. Arthur is survived by his children: Michael Scot Roth of Nampa, Idaho; Nathaniel Arthur Roth of Oregon; Jason Andrew Roth and Jacob Frederick Roth, both of Taylorsville; Carly Jewel Roth of Clinton; 2 grandsons; two brothers, Fred Allen Roth of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Stephen Ward Roth, deceased. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at 12:30 P.M. in the Mountain View Cemetery in Marysvale, Utah. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Tuesday morning from 10:00 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial with military honors accorded by the Sevier Valley American Legion Post #37 and the Utah Honor Guard will be in the Mountain View Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
