Elsinore, Utah - Barbara Jean Nelson, age 61, of Elsinore, died December 30, 2017 in Richfield, Utah, after a long struggle with kidney disease. She was born March 29, 1956 in Louisville, Kentucky, a daughter of Curtis Richard and Dorothy Ann Flint Nelson. She graduated from South Sevier High School, Class of 1975. Barbara was a member of the LDS Church, serving as a visiting teacher, and served many years and was very faithful as a compassionate service leader. She also served as a visiting teacher supervisor. Barbara loved her cats, Calvin, Tommy, Winter and Dusty and her dogs Shorty, and Paws that she held as he took his last breath. She like her tropical fish and enjoyed going fishing. Barbara is survived by her brother, Robert Gene and his wife, Deariel Nelson of Lompoc, California and their children: Robert DuFrance Nelson, Robert Gene Nelson Jr; Kevin Thomas Nelson, James Michael Nelson, Akiko Nelson and Michiko Nelson; her sister, Alice Ann and her husband, David Paul Crown of Salem; and their children and grandchildren: John David and Dawn Berry Crown, Rachael, Nicole, Ben, Jesse and Melissa; Janele Alice and Aaron Lee Williams, Solomon, Valerie, Mary, Mathew and Sam; Jacob Anthony and Sharon Melissa Barker Crown, Tamara, Johnson and Emily; Joseph Richard and Teresa Marie Jones Crown, Sarah and Rebekah; Ruth Sarah Oscarson, David and Aaron; Paul Davis and Erin Anne Crown, Shiloh, Jeremiah, Elora Danun. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 5, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. in the Monroe 1st LDS ward Chapel, 49 East 200 North in Monroe where friends may call for viewing Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Monroe City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
