Barbara W. Johns

Barbara W. Johns Hanksville, Utah - Barbara Eileen Wilkinson Johns, age 89, of Hanksville, died Saturday, November 22, 2003 in Richfield, Utah. She was born February 23, 1914 in Denver, Colorado, a daughter of William Percival and Ethel Lillian Pallet Wilkinson. She graduated from Saratogoa High School in California and attended College of the Pacific in Stockton, California. She married James Lee (Johny) Johns, August 26, 1935 in Dunsmuir, California. He died January 10, 1981. Barbara worked as an accountant for Getty Oil and also for Southern Pacific. She enjoyed her animal friends, spiritual books and classical music. Barbara is survived by a cousin, Shirley Wheat of Atescadero, California; two nieces, Betty Winders of Hawthorne, Florida and Evelyn Cordell of Miami, Florida. She also has many close friends in Hanksville who have helped her along the way. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Percival and Ethel Lillian Pallet Wilkinson, her step-mother, Belle Dorothy Wilkinson and her husband, James L. (Johny) Johns. Private family services were held at the Springer Turner Funeral Home Chapel in Richfield, Utah. Memorial services will be held at the family home in Hanksville at a later date. At her request, Barbara was cremated and her cremains, along with those of Johny, her husband, will be buried at a later date.
