Ben A. Bell

August 14, 1924 — September 11, 2008

Herriman, Utah - On September 11, 2008, our father, Ben Alvin Bell, age 84, passed through the veil and into the waiting arms of his loving wife, Annamary. He was born August 14, 1924 in Bingham, Utah, a son of Alma Chase and Lovina Pearl Moulton Bell. Ben was a Veteran of World War II, proudly serving in the US Navy. He was stationed at Pearl Harbor for two years in the US Naval Supply Depot as 2nd Class Petty Officer. He married his high school sweetheart, Annamary Ella Klein, July 21, 1942 in Salt Lake City. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died April 26, 2001. Dad was a Master Carpenter by trade and enjoyed making and giving away the beautiful things he made. He was a 60-year member of the Carpenters Union Local #184. He worked for Blosch Construction for 26 years. A faithful member of the LDS Church, he served in many wonderful callings. One of his favorites was Explorer Leader with the Scout Program. He enjoyed wonderful trips, making kayaks and bow and arrows with the boys. Ben and Annamary served in the Des Moines Iowa Mission for the LDS Church. Dad is survived by his six loving children: Marjorie and Arthur Amann of Heber City; Jean (Wilbur, deceased) Montierth of Falcon, CO; Shirley and Gene Hunnewell of Herriman; David and Brenda Bell of Pleasant Grove; Carol and Jake Jones of Colorado Springs, CO; Scott and Cheryl Bell of Salem; 22 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; sisters and brother: Lila and Albert Blosch of Bountiful; Golda and Quinn Wilson of West Valley City; Nina and Reed Neilson of Logan; Norman C. And Gloria Bell of Salt Lake City. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; a brother, William Bell and infant sister, Naoma Bell. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. in the Rose Canyon 1st LDS Ward Chapel, 7079 West Rose Canyon Road (14200 South) in Herriman. Friends may call for viewing at the Broomhead Funeral Home, 12600 South 2200 West in Riverton Monday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or at the Rose Canyon 1st Ward, Tuesday morning from 9:00 to 10:30 prior to the services. Grave side services with military honors accorded by the American Legion Post #23 of Heber City will be Tuesday afternoon at 3:00 P.M. in the Heber City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
