Bernice O. Sorensen

Bernice O. Sorensen 1906 - 2003 Salina, Utah - Our kind and beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister and aunt, Bernice Okerlund Sorensen, age 96, of Salina, died July 7, 2003 in Richfield, Utah. She was born October 31, 1906 in Salina, a daughter of Charles Hicks and Mary Jane Crane Okerlund. She married Max D. Sorensen October 31, 1924 in Richfield, Utah. He died August 19, 1994. Bernice, was well known for her “Grandma’s Salve”, her pie crusts and her candy. She is survived by her four sons: Bry and Louie Sorensen, Salt Lake; Dent and Valeen Sorensen, Salina; Nard and Pat Sorensen, Beaver Dam, Az.; Ted and Linda, St. George; 10 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great- grandchildren; brother Clyde and Aleen Okerlund, Richfield. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Lindon Okerlund and Gene Okerlund. Funeral services will be held Saturday July 12, 2003, 11:00 A.M. in the Salina 2nd LDS Ward Chapel, 87 South 100 East in Salina. Family will visit with friends Saturday morning at the Springer Turner Funeral Home, 150 East Main Street, in Salina from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to services. Burial in Salina Eastside Cemetery under the direction of Springer Turner Funeral Homes of Salina, Gunnison and Richfield, Utah.
