Beryl Nielsen Ball

Salina, Utah – Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, aunt, cousin, neighbor and friend, Beryl Nielsen Ball, age 94, passed away on January 29, 2020 in Centerfield, Utah. Beryl was born to William H. and Pearl Spainhower Nielsen on February 8, 1925 in Axtell, Utah. She graduated from Gunnison Valley High School in 1943. She was married to Ray V. Sorensen from April 17, 1943 until his death on July 20, 1945. She married Phil Nielsen on April 20, 1946. They raised 2 children together, and divorced in 1968. She was married Paul E. Ball on August 14, 1969, and they were together until his death on August 20, 2004. Beryl was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where she served as a primary teacher and mutual leader. She was active in the community. She served as American Legion Auxiliary President and worked at Zions Bank for 24 years as a teller supervisor, retiring in 1982. Beryl enjoyed reading a good book. She raised a plentiful garden. She was a fantastic cook, especially in the candy making department. She was a super fisher woman, and enjoyed traveling and camping. She is survived by her daughter: Jackie Terrell of Niceville, Florida; son: Dennis (Shauna) Nielsen of Lost Creek; step-daughters: Joann (Gene) Beck of Richfield, Linda (Al) Vincent of West Jordan, Shirlene (Ron) Camp of Enoch; step-sons: Kenneth (Stephanie) Ball of Redmond, Ronald (Gayle) Ball of Gunnison; 26 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter: Shanna Winkel; step-daughter: Paulette Nordella; sisters: Verdell Johnson, Ruby Tippette, Vera Cox, Leah Anderson, Belva Heyborne; brothers: Deon Nielsen, Max Nielsen, Lynn Nielsen, Oral Nielsen; Son-in-law: Mike Terrell. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 Noon Thursday, February 6, 2020 in the Salina Eastside Cemetery. Friends may call for viewing from 10:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. at the Springer Turner Funeral Home, 150 East Main, Salina. Services under the care of Springer Turner Funeral Homes of Richfield and Salina.
