Bette Lee Jolley

July 12, 1930 — February 25, 2018

Salina, Utah - Our kind and beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Bette Lee Christensen Jolley, age 87, of Salina, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2018 at her home in Salina after a brave and valiant battle with breast cancer. She was born July 12, 1930 in Salina, a daughter of Lavon A. and Mae Mickelsen Christensen. She graduated from North Sevier High School, Class of 1948. She went to BYU and graduated in 1951 with a teaching degree. Bette married the love of her life, Dee Wayne Jolley March 15, 1951 in the Manti LDS Temple. They would of celebrated 68 years of marital bliss this year. Bette was an active member of the LDS Church serving in many different callings from teaching to leadership. She taught school for 27 years in Salina, mostly in the kindergarten at Salina Elementary School. Bette enjoyed looking for petroglyphs and volunteering with the BLM in Clear Creek Canyon. Her favorite activity was being with her family and grandkids. Bette loved to travel and has traveled to Europe, Hawaii, the Samoan Islands, and most parts of the USA and Canada. She is survived by her husband, Dee Wayne of Salina; children: David W. and Jodi Jolley, Gregory L. Jolley, all of Salina; grandchildren: Heather Jolley of Salina, Brandon and Brittney Jolley of Richfield, Jessica and Jeremy Abrams of Price, Kristie and Jace St. Pierre of Helper, Shay Jolley of St. George; 13 great-grandchildren; sister and brother: Marilyn and Deloy Schaugaard of St. George; Bartley and Alexis Christensen of Salina. She is preceded in death by her parents; and a grandson, Shawn Lee Jolley. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 1, 2018 at 12 Noon in the Salina LDS Stake Center, 98 West 400 North in Salina, where friends may call for viewing Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or Thursday morning from 10:00 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Salina Pioneer Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
