Panguitch, Utah - Betty Merle Haskins Grice peacefully left this world to be with her Maker on December 29, 2020 in Richfield, Utah. Betty was born in Washington to Rose Zold (of Canada) and Earl R. Haskins (of Minnesota) on November 5, 1928. She grew up in Wenatchee, Washington. She had two siblings; Rupert, born in 1927, and Albert, born in 1928. Her parents and siblings preceded her in death. She loved Kawasaki motorcycles and was on a cross country ride when she met up with Leonard “Len” Grice. They were married in 1970. They traveled around the country in their 5th wheel with their dogs Twiggy and Muffy. Betty and Len lived in Hollister, California in the 1980’s where they managed a grass farm, and worked at a local golf course. Later they moved to Medford, Oregon and started up an RV repair service. After that they started traveling again and moved to Parker, Arizona. From there they ended up traveling to Panguitch, Utah, where they called “home.” Following Len’s death, she spent the last few years of her life in Loa. In 2020, she moved to the Beehive Home in Richfield, where she was kindly cared for. Betty was a lady with a variety of talents and interests. In her youth, she was an Arthur Murray dance instructor, and fondly remembered those days of ballroom dancing. Betty was a very good amateur golfer and played in several pro-am tournaments with members of the LPGA in the 1980’s. She was a gifted artist and painted numerous rocks with intricate details, and gifted many friends with her artwork. Betty often reminisced about her love of Semi-trucks and her Kawasaki. Betty and Leonard had no children; her last surviving relatives are Don (Barbara) Zold of Yuma, Arizona. She also leaves behind her faithful companion, Sweet Pea. Dear Betty will be missed by all of her friends for her kind heart and dry wit.
