Betty Hone Jewkes

Richfield, Utah - Our kind and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Betty Jean Hone Jewkes, age 81, died March 19, 2011 in Richfield, Utah. She was born April 15, 1929 in Benjamin, Utah, a daughter of Everett Wall and Vergie Higginson Hone. She married L. Coy Jewkes, July 30, 1948 in Benjamin. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple July 16, 1964. Coy died December 27, 1974. Betty was a member of the LDS Church, serving in all the auxiliaries. She worked as the Housekeeping Supervisor at Sevier Valley Hospital for many years, retiring in July of 1991. Our Mom and best friend, loved being with family and friends, mostly with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved them and was such a support to them all, never missing their birthdays or any other important event. She was always more concerned with their health and welfare, than her own. She is survived by her six children: Randy Lee and Darlene Jewkes; Janet and Robert Torgerson, all of Richfield; Sharon and David Stevenson of Mayfield; Boyd Gardner and Sandy Jewkes of Aurora; Karen and Craig Lee of Monroe; Wayne Coy and Teena Jewkes of Central Valley; 20 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters: John Hone of Santaquin; Virginia and Robert Nuttall of West Valley City; Bert Hone of Mesquite, Nevada; Don and Donna Hone of Phoenix, Arizona. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Krystal Randolph; two brothers and two sisters: Ray Hone, Floyd Hone, Alice Whiteman and Clara Dedrickson. Mom will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We love you, Grandma Betty. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 24, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. in the Richfield 7th LDS Ward Chapel, 159 North 400 West in Richfield. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home, 260 North 400 West in Richfield, Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or at the ward chapel, Thursday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
