Betty Jean Coons

January 16, 1930 — February 15, 2022

Monroe, Utah – Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Betty Jean Bowlsby Coons, age 92, passed away February 15, 2022 at her home in Monroe. She was born January 16, 1930 in Daniel, Wyoming, a daughter of Arthur W. and Evylin Beasly Bowlsby. She married Benjamin Franklin Taylor in 1948 in Wyoming. He died April 11, 1960. She married Charles Francis Coons April 11, 1965 in Jackson, Wyoming. He died March 12, 2008. Betty Jean enjoyed gardening, reading, she had a special love for all animals, but especially enjoyed taking care of her beloved cats. She is survived by her children: Earl J. Taylor of Hilo, Hawaii; Connie Coons Hurley of Enoch; Woodrow Coons of Gunnison; Victoria and Shane Ames of Elsinore; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; siblings: Earl and Lucille Bowlsby of Kentucky; Raymond and Nancy Bowlsby of Lander, Wyoming; Bill Bowlsby of Riverton, Wyoming; Dewey and Deana Bowlsby of Kemmerer, Wyoming; Lois Wilson of Long Beach, California; Elizabeth Klukan of Anchorage, Alaska. She is preceded in death by both of her husbands; two sons: Lynn Taylor and Daniel Coons; a granddaughter, Michelle Taylor and a sister, Winifred Walrod. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Gunnison Home Health and Hospice and especially to nurses, Lacy, Pat and Melissa for their tender, loving and kind care they showed in taking care of our Mother. You are truly Angels on earth. Thank you!!! Funeral services will be held Friday, February 25, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. in the Springer Turner Funeral Home Chapel in Richfield, where friends may call for viewing Friday morning from 11:30 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Monroe City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
