Betty Jean Jacobson

February 12, 1929 — July 26, 2008

Gunnison, Utah - Our kind and beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Betty Jean Ennis Jacobson, age 79, died July 26, 2008 at the home of her daughter in Grand Junction, Colorado. She was born February 12, 1929 in Coldwater, Kansas, a daughter of Martin Harrison and Georgia Idella Steele Ennis. She married Moyal Erastus Jacobson, June 20, 1957 at the Ferrin Reservoir. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple June 3, 1995. They were married for 52 years. Moyal died July 16, 2005. Betty has lived in Gunnison since the mid sixty’s. In 2005, Betty moved to Grand Junction, Colorado, after the passing of her husband Moyal, to live with her daughter, Jean. Betty spent most of her time traveling back and forth between St. George, Gunnison and Grand Junction, spending the cold months in St. George and the summers in Grand Junction, but Gunnison was always where her heart was and home for many years. Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and a friend to many. She added love and laughter to the lives of everyone who knew her. Betty is truly loved and will be deeply missed. She is survived by her children: Jean and Scott DeLancey, John Jacobson, all of Grand Junction, Colorado; Debra and Jess Bown of St. George; 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sister and brother: Georgia Bird of Wichita, Kansas; Bill and Scharlotte Ennis of Tooele; sister-in-laws: Elma and Melroy Peterson of Gunnison; Vivian Ennis-Austin of Jackson, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by 1 sister and 4 brothers: Cecil Ennis, Herman Luther Ennis, Lloyd Bruce Ennis, Cleo Ray Ennis and Martin Harrison Ennis, Jr. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 1, 2008 at 1:00 P.M in the Gunnison LDS Stake Center, 80 West Center Street in Gunnison, where friends may call for viewing Thursday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or Friday morning from 11:00 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Mayfield Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
