Betty L. Dumas

April 1, 1939 — January 12, 2023

It is with profound sadness, we announce the passing of Betty Louise Larsen Dumas, our loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and friend to all whose lives she touched, on January 12, 2023 in Elsinore, Utah. She was 83 years old at the time of her passing. Betty was the youngest daughter of Morving and Olga Margaret Anderson Larsen. She was born April 1, 1939, in Redmond, Utah.

As a child, Betty always wanted to go to Beauty School. After she graduated from North Sevier High School in 1957, she went to school at Continental Beauty School in Salt Lake City. Betty quickly decided it wasn’t a good idea because the chemicals would hurt her hands. She ended up working various jobs in housekeeping.

Betty enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, usually with a Pepsi in hand. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, Rummy, her daily cinnamon roll, bumming with her girlfriends, painting her nails, and binge-watching movies with Jenna. Betty adored her little dog Spunky and would do anything for her. She would even buy her chicken tacos. Betty loved roses because she thought they were pretty. She enjoyed phone calls from her grandchildren and showed up when they were participating in different events.

She is a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served in various church callings including Primary, Sunday School, and Relief Society.

Betty is survived by her children: Brian (Lori) Dumas, Salina; Shawn (Kim) Dumas, Axtell; and Jaimi (Lester) Noffsinger, Elsinore. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren: Chandler, Camille, Tristan (Krystle) Dumas, Jaleesa (Drayson) Ball, McKayla Dumas, Kylie (Kelbey) Nay, Whitney Dumas, Jenna Dumas, Hayden Noffsinger and 9 great-grandchildren: Bradley, Ryley, Westley, Shayley Dumas, Trey Ball, Kalley, Karley, Khloe Nay, and (Baby Boy Nay).

She is preceded in death by her parents; siblings: Elwood (Stella), Don, Ava, and Ivan Larsen.

She was the last surviving member of her siblings.
