Betty N. Upchurch

Marysvale, Utah - Our kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Elisabeth Niemann Upchurch, age 77, died November 21, 2011 in Provo, Utah. She was born May 10, 1934 in Meisenheim, Germany, a daughter of Herman and Johanna Katrina Edinger Niemann. She graduated from Volksschule High School, Class of 1948 in Meisenheim, Germany. She married Gilbert B. Upchurch, June 12, 1959 in Meisenheim. Betty was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed canning, crocheting, gardening and she loved her animals. Betty is survived by her loving husband, Gilbert, of Marysvale; her children: Warren and Laura Upchurch. Tom and Debbie Upchurch, all of Marysvale; Mike and Marianne Upchurch of California; Jim and Linda Upchurch, and Johanna Kellum, all of Circleville; and Rob Upchurch of Arizon; 10 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; two sisters and one brother: Christa Prewitt of Texas; Horst Niemann and Elfriede Lascake, both of Germany. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers: Wilhelm Niemann and Herman Niemann. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 15, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. in the Marysvale LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call for viewing Friday morning from 11:30 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Mountain View Cemetery in Marysvale under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
