Betty J. Nielson Richfield, Utah - Betty Noune Jensen Nielson, age 79, of Richfield, died suddenly and unexpectedly on Sunday, December 7, 2003, on her 79th birthday, in Richfield, Utah. She was born December 7, 1924 in Pott County, Iowa, a daughter of Joseph E. and Margret Katherine Weiser Jensen. She graduated from Gunnison Valley High School in Gunnison, Utah. Betty married Edward “Eddie” Erastus Nielson, October 8, 1942 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He died June 2, 1970. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening and raising flowers. Betty is survived by her two sons: Ward E. and Maxine Nielson of Monroe; Joseph F. and Karen Nielson of Centennial, CO; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brother and sister: Nolan Sam Jensen of Bloomington, UT; Jean J. Wayland of Las Vegas, NV. She was preceded in death by a brother, Ward Jensen. Grave side services and burial will be held Saturday, May 8, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. in the Richfield City Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah. The family would like to extend a very special thanks to Charlene Brown, a wonderful, good and caring neighbor, that was so helpful, kind and considerate of mother while she was living at home.
