Richfield, Utah - William Ray “Bill” Bowen, age 79, died July 16, 2005 at his home in Richfield. He was born October 30, 1925 in Rupert, Idaho, a son of John H. and Sarah Stewart Bowen. He married Kathryn Rollins, May 21, 1945 in Parowan, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple June 12, 1952. She died September 9, 2003. Bill was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Navy. He was a member of the LDS Church. He is survived by his children: Michael and Janice Bowen, Jeffery and Carrie Bowen, all of Salt Lake City; Geri and Almon Dickinson of Richfield; Jacqueline and Leland Curtis of Aurora; Blaine and Chris Bowen of Boise, Idaho; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a sister, Idonna. Grave side services will be held Wednesday, July 20, 2005 at 1:00 P.M. in the Parowan City Cemetery. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. Burial with military honors accorded by the Parowan VFW Post # 920 and the Parowan American Legion Post # 20 will be in the Parowan City Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
